This is my first blog entry ever. I must admit that I'm quite nervous about putting myself out in the world wide web. I've watched too many spy movies and TV shows to believe that I won't be kidnapped and tortured by some terrorist organization if I blog with my real name and with any sort of details pertaining to my life. Of course this is completely illogical but there are other things fueling my nervous energy. I was never really good with change and now I've started a blog. You might think this isn't a big deal but it is. Starting a blog isn't just signing up with blogger.com and typing an introductory entry about how cool it is to have your own blog. Pretty soon I'll become curious about other people's blogs and I'll start commenting on their entries. Then they'll, in turn, comment on mine. Afterwards I'll most likely experience a warm sensation from connecting with some semi-stranger online and post the URL for my blog on Facebook. Who knows how many connections will be made? Dozens? Hundreds? Thousands? Before long there will be millions of comments and blogs being written and read and read and written everyday. I'll be forced to quite my job and spend all day and night perusing people's personal passages penned in private but perceived publicly and my life as I know it will crumble.
Hopefully my time blogging will fall somewhere between that and not writting anything at all and that what I mean to express somehow makes it through these jumbled words into your mind, heart and soul. And so begins the oddessy of my blog: The Wood Shop.
